Thanks for your interest in synthetic hair picture donation!

What it is:
Squeakmachine.com will be home to a rather large "fake" and synthetic hair gallery. Along with each donated picture will be the person's name and/or website and a description of the materials used in the hair piece. This will give others an opportunity to get ideas and check out some of the available web talent. You don't have to make or sell synthetic hair pieces to get into the gallery. Just a decent picture of a piece you made or ordered along with your name (and a credit to the person who made it) will do! But if you do make or sell hair pieces, this might offer a wonderful opportunity for you to show off your work!
To the right is a basic idea of what the gallery thumbnails will look like. The exception is that they will open up into a larger image and all of the WebPages and names listed will be linked to their appropriate pages.

Main Features:
If you have a vast array of hair pics or run a hair piece/braiding business you may be eligible to become a "feature".  Featured synthetic hair  makers and wearers will appear at the head of the gallery page, and their thumbnail will open up to a larger page displaying samples of their work (or work they have had done) along with a brief bio and description. You can e-mail me if you have an interest or would like to find out more. To become a feature you must submit at least 8 pics of different hair pieces or extensions. Your pics must be clear and of good quality. You must also be able to give proper credit to the maker of the hair, it's wearer, or the company it was ordered from.

What I'm Looking For:
Pictures of:
- synthetic dreads (extensions, wigs, or falls)
- customized wigs
- straight extensions or falls
- plastic, foam, metal, yarn, etc hairpieces or extensions
- pretty much anything else in the way of synthetic hair!

What I am NOT looking for:
- poor quality photos where color and hair is difficult to see
- your real hair dyed pink, blue, whatever  (synthetic hair only!)
- a full body shot where hair is not the "main" attraction
- nudity
- photos copyrighted to someone other then -you-

To donate pics:
Make sure pics are clear and of good quality. I would also like pics to be of a decent size....not too small, not too large. Between 300-600 pixels in height and length is best. I will accept photos outside those limits though. If someone other then yourself is pictured in the photo PLEASE let me know AND be sure that they e-mail me with a brief note to let me know that they are okay with it being posted.
E-mail the pics to FakeHair@Squeakmachine.com
Be sure to include:
- Your name
- The name you would like to appear with the picture if not the same as above (your tag or handle)
- Your website (Hair site, LJ, Myspace, personal site or profile, whatever you want) if you have one, it is not required
- the name and/or site of the person who made your hair, or the store you bought it at
- the type of synthetic hair pictured (dread extentions, dread falls, wig, foam falls, yarn extensions, etc...)

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me and ask. :)

Below you will find some example images so you can get an idea of the type of pics I would like to see:

Ex. 1 - Professional photos; if you have have any professional pics of you hair, fantastic! The quality would be above average and would almost certainly be accepted into the gallery. Two things though: Try to submit pics that focus on the hair or a "head shot" and be sure you have copyright to the photo that it can be posted.

Ex. 2 - Digital Camera photos; and all other non professional pics are fine too! But please be sure your lighting is good and the photo is clear. A photo that shows how the hair was attached, braided, or made are useful and I would like to see more of them submitted.

Ex. 3 - This pic was taken with a normal, everyday digital camera. It is clear and sharp; you can see the texture of the dreads and the colors of the hair. I recommend using natural light instead of the flash. The colors are more true to life and the image appears sharper.

Ex. 4 - Another professional pic. This is not quite a "head shot" but it is close enough to see the style of the hair and the way that it is braided in. The background and outfit are also plain enough so as not to take away from the hair. A picture similar to this would be acceptable.
