One of the defining characteristics of any alternative girl or guy is their hair. Even if someone has no make-up on and is wearing rather nondescript clothing, one can still usually tell that they are into the "scene" by their hairstyle alone. There is a lot of ground to cover when it comes to cut, color, and style...especially in the subculture genre. Unfortunately, many of us are left to our own devices when it comes to figuring out and actually applying these methods on our own hair. Conventional hairdressers and stylists offer very little help and are seldom trained in the complex coloring, styling, and caring of alternative culture hair styles.
